FOR THE people of about 600 villages in Dhar district
of Mahdaya Pradesh, the new millennium has begun with
an informtion revolution with an information revolution.
For the first time in the state, 21 major centres spread
over five

blocks of the
Dhar district have been connected with an intranet network
called "Gyandoot".
With the openinig of these centres, called "Soochanalaya".
Inaugurated by Chief Minister Digvijay Singh yesterday,
life of the people of these 600 villages will hopefully
be easier. Farmers will be able
|
to access information
regarding prices of grains and vegetables of nearly
a dozen mandis through this network.
Moreover, through "Gyandoot", the people of these
villages will be able to send and receive information
regarding land records, income certificates, caste certificate,
|
domicile certificates
demarcation application, health facilities etc. Besides
information about government welfare schemes and programmes
will also reach the villagers.
According to Dhar Collector Rajesh Rajoria, this scheme
will benefit the villagers in many ways.
